From Zach and Asia's favorite aunt

This is a note from the favorite aunt out in San Antonio, Texas. I have the pleasure of being the one who introduced Zach to eating globs of peanut butter straight from a spoon. Yummy. You should know that peanut butter has lots of protein and fat, which growing little people need. I think that Zach is a constitution of peanut butter crackers, milk, and bits and pieces of random types of food that everyone is trying to trick him into eating, using psychological techniques and pretending they are airplanes. Well, one of these days The Human Peanut Butter Boy will wake up and discover something like ribeye steak or a really good carne guisada gordita on homemade corn tortillas and watch out world!

  1. I would love it if Zach discovered prime rib. Wait! He did! He had some prime rib today. We basically asked him to try some meat. He did take a bite, but preferred to eat half of humongous onion roll that came with the meal. His new saying about food these days: "It tastes a little bit yucky and a little bit good." A few days ago, he pulled this bottle of juice out of the pantry. I think he thought it was grape juice. I informed him that it was prune juice. I didn't want to influence him and say it would'nt taste good or that he wouldn't like it. John gave him some - very watered down. Zach's response was: "It's a little bit yucky and a little bit good." Must have been much more yucky than good because he took a few more sips and then returned the glass to his father.

  2. Every time when I have guests over for dinner and see their kids eat so good, I wish Zach was like that,it is always a challenge to get Zach to eat. It surprised his parents when I got him to eat eggs for breakfast when they were visiting in April. But I would not worry about him since he is a happy healthy little boy full of enengy. I am glad that Asia is eating everything on her plate so far. Keep good work! Asia.

  3. I think the problem is just that he eats so many little snacks throughout the day. Like at daycare, the report we get when we pick him up almost always says that he wasn't hungry and didn't eat lunch. Sometimes it says that he tasted this or that - usually the rice or potatoes. But I think what happeneds is that he eats right before going to daycare - Cocoa Wheats, cereal, or pancakes - for breakfast. Then he probably has a morning snack and isn't hungry for lunch which is at 11 AM. Then he has an afternoon snack. John picks him up from daycare and he has another snack. When dinner comes an hour later, he isn't hungry. He's usually hungry before going to bed.
